Out of State Professional Licensure Policy
In accordance with U.S. Department of Education requirements, Standard Healthcare Services, College of Nursing provides prospective and enrolled students with information regarding whether completion of the Practical Nursing Program and the LPN to RN Transition Program is sufficient to meet state education requirements for licensure or certification. Standard College provides a list of all States for which the school has determined that it (a) meets state educational requirements for licensure or certification in the state, (b) does not meet state educational requirements for licensure or certification in the state, or (c) Standard College has not made a determination that its curriculum meets the State educational requirements for licensure or certification in the state.
Standard College does not admit students who reside in States for which the school has determined that its curriculum does not meet, or has not made a determination on meeting, state educational requirements for professional licensure or certification.
The College advises students and prospective students to contact the licensing board for the states the school has determined that its curriculum does not meet, or has not made a determination on meeting, state educational requirements for professional licensure or certification, and provides the current state licensing board contact information for those states.
Before submitting an application to the Practical Nursing Program or LPN to RN Transition Program, prospective students are informed of any states in which Standard College has determined that its curriculum does not meet, or has not determined whether its curriculum meets, the state educational requirements for professional licensure or certification.
During mandatory orientation, each student receives and signs the Professional Licensure Disclosure. The signed disclosure is maintained in the student’s Populi account. The Professional Licensure Disclosure and this Out-of-State Professional Licensure Policy are also published in the College’s Handbook/Catalog and are available to students throughout their enrollment.
The College monitors student location in accordance with its Physical Location Policy. Upon notification from the student of a change in their physical location, the College will determine whether the program satisfies the educational requirements for professional licensure or credentialing in the student’s new state. If the program does not satisfy those requirements, the College will notify the student in writing by email within 14 calendar days of receiving the change-of-location information.
The College also reviews changes to state educational requirements that may affect currently enrolled students. If the College determines that the program no longer satisfies the educational requirements for licensure or credentialing in a state where a student is physically located, the affected student will be notified individually in writing by email within 14 calendar days of the determination.
