Enrollment Certification and Degree Verification
A request for written verification of your current or former attendance at the college, degrees earned, etc., may be supplied to a third party. The procedure is:
- If you have been given a form that needs to be completed, submit it to the Office of the Registrar. Complete your part of the form and sign it to indicate your permission to release the information. These forms are usually left at the Front Desk for the student to pick up and usually completed in 5 working days. Faxed forms will be accepted provided that they have been properly completed (by you). The office fax number is 703-891-1789
- For a personalized letter certifying attendance and/or enrollment in a nursing program, please submit a written request in person or by email that includes your name and date of birth to the Office of the Registrar, firstname.lastname@example.org or 7704 Leesburg Pike Suite 1000 Falls Church, VA 22043. Additionally, please include any other necessary information you need to be put in the personalized letter and the name and address of the person or organization to whom the information is to be sent. Specify whether the letter should be mailed to a third party or returned to you. These requests are also accepted via fax provided the letter will be mailed to a third party or will be personally picked up by you. The office fax number is 703-891-1789. Forms and letters will not be completed unless you are validated.
Currently enrolled students can check their Enrollment status via Populi. Go to My Profile and at the top of the screen, you’ll see actions that let you you print enrollment verification.
In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), only directory information may be released to third parties. Enrollment status, dates of attendance and degree information are directory information.
If you do not wish information about your enrollment status and degrees released to third parties, contact the Office of the Registrar to establish your FERPA privacy hold. A privacy option set while attending the College will remain on your record even after you stop attending or graduate. Alumni and former students who would like to remove their FERPA hold so that a third party can receive enrollment/degree information should update their privacy settings by contacting the Office of the Registrar. Those that do not have access to the campus should contact the Office of the Registrar, at email@example.com.
