Community-Based Nursing

This course presents theories and concepts related to community-based nursing and public health sciences within the framework of critical thinking and the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on the patient and family in areas of health promotion, risk reduction, and disease management across the lifespan in home and community settings. This course incorporates the community as a broad focus to understand the individuals, family, and community as the recipients of health care delivery in a multicultural society. Application of knowledge and skills occurs using case studies.
